Australian Pinoy TV

PINOY TV is a not-for-profit community television broadcasting group, run by a small but dedicated group of volunteers. The idea behind forming PINOY TV was to develop and produce television programs that was not only aimed at the Filipino community in Australia but to the wider general public.

Pinoy TV Australia, is the first and only locally produced television program on free-to-air television station in Australia servicing the Filipino-Australian community. The program is predominantly spoken in English as it seeks to reach viewers from non-Filipino background as well as the second and third generation who may not have a good grasp of the Filipino language. The half-hour weekly program began its broadcast on 20 October, 2002. Its coverage initially included metropolitan Melbourne and Geelong in Victoria. It is now seen in most major capital cities in Australia. Pinoy TV's Music Lounge is an offshoot of Pinoy TV catering to a mainly youth audience. The first program went to air mid 2005 and is broadcast in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney.

The current program is called "The Pinoy Lounge" and is a blend of the "Pinoy TV" and the "Music Lounge" programs compacted into a weekly half-hour show. Visit www.pinoytv.com for more details.
